MidCoast Medical Center – Bellville joined the MidCoast Health System in 2023. The MidCoast Health System is one of Texas' largest rural health care providers are is pleased to offer Texas' best medical services to the Austin County Area.
Prior to joining the MidCoast Health System, the hospital operated under the names Bellville Medical Center, Bellville General Hospital, Bellville St. Joseph and CHI St. Joseph Health Center.
The Bellville Hospital District Board is responsible for the hospital and retains experienced rural hospital consultants to manage the operations.
MidCoast Medical Center – Bellville is proud to provide an ever-expanding list of services seldom found in a rural hospital.
Their ER is Level IV Trauma certified and Level III Stroke certified, with a well-equipped facility. When necessary, patients can be transferred by air ambulance through BMC’s affiliation with LifeFlight for higher level care. Since becoming BMC, specialists have returned or come on board, including general surgery, oncology, cardiology, podiatry, ophthalmology, OB/Gyn (no deliveries), urology, ENT, pain management. Additional physicians are periodically added to our specialist list. Primary care providers include internal and family medicine and pediatrics. Our therapy department provides inpatient and outpatient care, our lab services are extensive, imaging includes xray, CT, MRI and 3D mammography. We are very proud to claim the only 3D mammography outside the larger area medical centers, thanks to the generosity of the Bellville Hospital Foundation.
